Level 4 qualification with transferable CAT points.  Run by the University of Cumbria with the Diocese of Carlisle, Blackburn, Manchester and Chester.  Teaching takes place over three weekends.  Assignments in three modules lead to certificate or may be possible to do separately.  If space is available it is possible to train but not do the assignments, maybe with the option of doing equipping instead.
Module One: Christian Youth Work (27th -29th November 2009)
Module 2: Spirituality faith and worship.
Mudule 3: Policies practices and procedure.
Engage is run by St Thomas Kendal.  It can lead to level 3 certificate "youth support worker".
Although this particular course is aimed at young people it could be delivered to adults as a starting point.  Learn active listening skills.  Excellent for mentoring etc.
